Booking and Bail in California

Whether a person has been arrested for domestic violence, DUI, DWI or any other offense the process is the same. Persons taken into custody by the Culver City Police or Sheriff's Department will be held at either the Culver City Police Station Jail, Sheriff's Station Jail or will be transfered to the Los Angeles County Jail (IRC) and will be kept there until their first court date called the "Arraignment." Bail is allowed to be posted in any facility 24hrs a day, 7 days a week.

Before a bail bond is turned in and accepted, the arrestee must pass a background check through "Live Scan", which is a machine that is linked to a county, state and national database. That database will notify the authorities of any possible holds, warrants, or aliases that might prevent release or increase the total bail amount of an arrestee. Once the results of the Live Scan come back from the various government agencies, that person is then "cleared" to bond out. At this time, a jailor will review and accept a Bail Bond for an arrestee and release them on the Bail Bond.

From the time a Bail Bond is turned in, it takes between 30 minutes and 3 hours for a release depending on the facility where the person is being held. Release times do vary based on the workload of the Culver City jail's staff as well as the type of facility. Once out, a person will need to complete his or her part of the paper work, take a picture, and make sure to show up to each and every court date thereafter.

In addition to being bail bonds agents we are proud members of the Culver City community.

Culver City is mostly surrounded by the city of Los Angeles, but it also contains borders of unincorporated areas of L.A. County. It is estimated, as of 2000, that Culver City is home to 38,816 residents. Culver City has been known as a significant center for motion pictures and television since the 1920s because it housed MGM Studios. From 1932 to 1985, the city also played home to the headquarters for the Hughes Aircraft Company. During the Civil War, the city was used as a staging area for the training of Union troops known as Camp Latham, named for California Senator Milton S. Latham. The first attempt to establish the city was in 1913 by Harry Culver, who the city is named after . The city would become officially incorporated in September, 1917. The first ads for the city read 'All roads lead to Culver City,' indicating there was a main route via the city. During prohibition, Culver was the home of many nightclubs and speakeasies just like those in New York, such as the infamous Cotton Club. Culver City has also had its share of historic movies filmed there; movies like 'The Wizard of Oz,' 'Gone with the Wind,' and 'Citizen Kane,' were all made in the city. Culver City is an ideal place for movies studios to film nostalgic sequences due to the fact that the architecture of the city has not changed in decades. Although Culver City is still used by movie studios, it experienced a downfall during the 60s and 70s; much of the backlot area was sold by its owners to make room for residential and shopping expansions. With its rich movie history, Culver City still houses some notable sites including the Culver Hotel. One owned by John Wayne, the hotel was used by much of the 'The Wizard of Oz' cast in 1939. The hotel was originally built in 1924 and has the shape of that of a slice of pie. The hotel has also had its share of famous guests over the years including Greta Garbo, Clark Gable, and Red Skelton. Another notable site in the city, is that of the Star Eco Station, and environmental science and wildlife rescue center that houses exotic animals that have been confiscated or abandoned and teaches people of all ages about the environment.
